Manchester United leading the transfer battle.

For all the insults hurled at Manchester United's Executive Vice Chairman, Ed Woodward, he has redeemed his name. The accountant turned football executive shocked (even himself) fans of the club when the Manchester club pulled off a hat trick of Memphis Depay, Bastian Shweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin. This is a man who spent almost an entire transfer window chasing the shadow
of Cesc Fabregas. Interesting. The way he and Manchester United have dealt with football bullies, Real Madrid, over the transfer of goalkeeper David De Gea is somewhat commendable. The club have shaken off pressure to maintain their stand on the sales of David much to the surprise of the Madrid club.
Fans of other EPL clubsides and indeed ex Liverpool player Jamie Carragher laughed off the signing of especially Schweinsteiger citing his age. Schweini will be thirty years old by August. When you remember that football artist, Andrea Pirlo transferred to Juventus at the age of thirty two then you laugh wildly at people taunting the acquisition. So long as Bastian remains fit, he will pilot the United midfield perfectly in the games Van Gaal will afford him. United also have Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellini and Juan Mata jostling for places in  central midfield. The club is midfield-ready for the season. Add a central striker, maybe a central defender and United is ready to compete for the title again.
However, Chelsea will still prove to be their greatest obstacle. A team similarly spoiled in the midfield like United.
Manchester United will do way better than they did last season in the upcoming season. I will glady roast and eat my words with a good bottle of Carlo Rossi if they finish worse off.
